A Globally Recognised Data Standard is the Need of the Hour - Andre Simha

MSC’s Global Chief Digital & Innovation Officer says its time for the industry to come together on data standardisation

Moving further into the first session of TLME’s Future-Proof Technologies Conference held recently in Dubai, conference moderator Lars Jensen, CEO & Partner at Vespucci Maritime, ask the panellists what they were doing to ensure the quality of the data they using for their systems – particularly in the Middle East where digitalising was growing rapidly.

Andre Simha, Global Chief Digital & Innovation Officer, MSC said that discussions on data quality have been going on for two decades. Although the shipping industry itself has achieved a reasonable level of standardisation, now they were focussing more on the customers’ side.

 However, “something needs to happen” to create a flagship product and platform for globally recognised standards, asserted Mr Simha.
