Oman Signs Framework Agreement for Developing and Operating Shinas Port

QSS Maritime will develop, manage and operate Shinas Port through 3 phases

Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has signed a framework agreement with QSS Maritime to develop, manage and operate Shinas Port in the Ministry's General Office in Al Khuwair.

The QSS Maritime consortium comprising companies from Oman and India presently manages seven terminals across the globe.

Under the agreement, the QSS Maritime will develop, manage and operate Shinas Port through 3 phases. The first stage includes the formation of a committee to receive and hand over the port.

The second phase will see the start of development, management and operation of Shinas port, with effect from 1 November 2023. This phase also includes the preparation of a commercial and marketing plan and a new masterplan covering a period of 8 months.

The third and final stage will comprise financial negotiations leading to a long-term agreement to develop, manage and operate the port for a period of 30 years.
