Giant New Saudi Port Begins Construction

King Salman of Saudi Arabia has laid the first foundation stone for the Arar Port Development Project on the Saudi-Iraq border.

The new port is expected to generate huge economic opportunity including and provide many job offers for Saudi nationals.

The port is being built in the Northern Border Region, very close to the Iraq border.

Dubai & Abu Dhabi Sign Port Collaboration MoU

As well as the port, 65 other projects have been announced for the region.

The port is anticipated to be spread over an area of over 1.5 million square metres.

The project will include a logistics zone that will serve as the Kingdom’s northern economic gate, connecting the Kingdom with Europe and Asia, and boosting trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
