Dubai Ports Announced as Partner for UN World Data Forum
The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with DP World in Dubai to build a strategic relationship for the UN World Data Forum, according to WAM.
Abdullah Nasser Lootah, FCSA Director-General, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the UN World Data Forum 2018, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World recently signed a MoU.
The agreement outlines DP World’s involvement in providing relevant resources and expertise for the forum, which will investigate the impact of data and its role implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said: “Our partnership with the UN World Data Forum reflects our support of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
“As a major global employer, we know we can play a significant role in improving people’s lives, strengthening communities, and protecting the environment.
“We look forward to supporting the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority in boosting cooperation among global stakeholders on the collection of data and information to enable business to grow and position the UAE as a leader in this field."
The UN World Data Forum 2018 will be hosted by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistical Authority of the UAE, with support from the Statistics Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
The Forum will take place in the UAE, on October 22-24 2018.
