APM Terminals Bahrain has pushed on with its improvements to the Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), implementing three weighbridges for its container weighing service.
The weighbridges are located at three separate points within the port, adding to two manual weighbridges already in operation at the port.
The new facilities are expected to ensure that truck flows remain uninterrupted, as well as providing trucks with safer access to the terminal.
APM Terminals said in a statement: “The new weighbridges are yet another initiative from APM Terminals Bahrain to facilitate smooth trade flows in the Kingdom aligned with the government’s strategy on developing best in class national infrastructure that supports the development of Bahrain’s maritime and logistics services that facilitates overall trade growth.”
The new weighbridges are also be linked with KBSP’s terminal operating system, automatically generating a VGM record for the container to reduce costs, risks and delays.
Digital loads cells have also been installed on the weighbridges to improve weight accuracy and minimize maintenance.
