DP World Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem has stated that 2019 will be "challenging” but not “unmanageable” in a recent interview.

The DP World chief said he was cautious of the impact of the Trade War between the US and China, pointing out that this could impact global confidence in markets as well as lending.

DP World has outlined the turbulent global situation earlier in the year, yet it has pushed on with projects around the world.

It has recently announced a BRI station in Dubai as well as its intention to build a trade zone at India’s massive JNPT port.

With regard to 2019, bin Sulayem said “We are finding ways to make sure that we do good in 2019.

“Historically, we have managed worse scenarios than this.”
