Dubai & Abu Dhabi Sign Port Collaboration MoU

Agreement aimed at spurring trade ties

With the aim of fostering an attractive investment environment that encourages businesses and supports the national economy, the Dubai Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Administration of Customs in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU aims to enhance ties of mutual cooperation and partnership and exchange of expertise and best practices and business process solutions, which would give impetus to trade and economic activity.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General, General Administration of Customs, Abu Dhabi signed the MoU which will see both departments work together towards mutual benefit and added value to clients.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Nadya Kamali, CEO, Customs World, and Mubarak Matar Al Mansoori, Executive Director, Customs Operations Division at Abu Dhabi General Administration of Customs, attended the signing.

Sultan bin Sulayem expressed his happiness on signing this agreement and pointed out the MoU is set to further cooperation with government, semi-government and private sectors in realization of the “wise vision” of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Sultan bin Sulayem also paid respects to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, with his aim to achieve higher social and economic development, a knowledge based economy and more international competitiveness.

Bin Sulayem added: “We, at PCFC, are creating a competitive edge by signing these agreements on local and international levels.

“This helps in continuous development of operations and services in different sectors in order to attract and stimulate local, regional and foreign investments.”
