Exclusive Video: Team Emirates Post Rises Up to the Challenge
"The success of any business rests with its people", says CEO of Emirates Post, Peter Somers in this exclusive video where he describes the challenges his company faced in the last 15 months and the measures taken to overcome the same.
The well-being of employees was a priority for Emirates Post. No one was laid off and no one took a pay cut. In fact, as Mr Somers describes, Emirates Post added vehicles and drivers to its delivery fleet to meet rising demand.
Emirates Post was the first company in the UAE to introduce contactless deliveries. The company also launched a new website and retail shop. Further leveraging technology, Emirates Post launched e-PO Box services along with digital postcards that helped communities remain connected.
To meet the surge in e-commerce transactions in the region retailers relied heavily on Emirates Post for smooth deliveries. To meet the demand the company opened a second International Operations Hub at Dubai International airport and a second sorting center at Jebel Ali.
To honour and recognise front-line workers during the pandemic, Emirates Post released a number of commemorative stamps in Association with Emirates Red Crescent Authority. Part of the proceeds from the stamps was donated to front-line workers battling Covid-19.
Mr Somers concludes by appreciating the hard work and dedication of his people who rose to the challenge and became an integral part of the UAE's successful response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
