Dubai South & Dubai Customs to Enhance Trade Ties

Moves aimed at ease of doing trade in Dubai

Dubai South and Dubai Customs have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing transport, aviation and logistics development, according to reports.

Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South Khalifa Al Zaffin and Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, signed the two deals which cover:

  1. The coordination of interlinked electronic systems of both parties to facilitate the exchange of information regarding registered companies, thus facilitating the transaction for permits and other approvals.
  2. Dubai South's Sales Force system is merged with Dubai Customs’ Mirsal II system to facilitate issuance, collection and transfer of documents pertaining to the entry and exit of local and imported goods

The deals are essentially aimed at the ease of doing trade in Dubai.

Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation, said: “We are confident that our partnership with Dubai Customs will strengthen our bilateral efforts to consolidate Dubai’s vision in making it one of the most important hubs in the world for ease of doing business, investments and entrepreneurship.”

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, director of Dubai Customs. “This agreement further supports initiatives that drive economic growth in line with long-term development goals set under the UAE Centennial 2071 in accordance with the directives of the country’s wise leadership.”
