Dubai Customs Launches Campaign to Boost Smart Warehousing

Aims to reach out to 21,000 companies

Dubai Customs has launched a campaign to develop the warehousing systems of free zone companies in Dubai. The campaign was announced in September 2018 and started in the beginning of 2019.

The campaign aims at educating more than 21,000 companies about the importance of their warehousing systems’ consistence and compliance with the Dubai Customs smart system, which will be of mutual benefit to both sides.

Said Ekhlas Al Mutawa, Director of Post Clearance Audit Department: “In order to facilitate services for clients, a team from the audit department holds meetings and regular visits to our client companies based on the free zones.

“We encourage them to create smart warehousing system compatible with Mirsal 2; the smart secure administrative electronic declaration system.

“A number of companies have already fulfilled the requirements, and other companies have shown interest to apply the requirements of this initiative, and now working to update their warehousing systems.”

The campaign also covers logistics and customs clearance companies which offer management and warehousing services.

“Dubai Customs constantly develops customs systems and mechanisms following the latest international standards with the vision of preserving Dubai’s revenues and supporting clients to help towards a more attractive investment environment,” adds Mutawa.
