UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has won the heralded Global Pioneers in Aviation Award 2019 at the TLME Excellence Awards 2019, noting the authority's exceptional performance throughout 2019.

The TLME Excellence Awards were held in Dubai at the glitzy Roda Al Bustan Hotel on the 11 November, 2019.

Captain Khalid Al Ali, Assistant Director-General Strategy and External Affairs, GCAA, accepted the award, which you can see below:

The award was originally created to recognize the organization that has done the most pioneering work in creating positive operational, regional and social change - an extremely important role in the modern supply chain.

Nominees were selected on the basis of excellence in safety and security, their contribution to international standards and the creation of opportunity for individuals.

The winner, GCAA, not only exhibited an aptitude in each of the aforementioned fields but has actively been pioneering in each, bringing the region to new heights and going the extra mile in creating a better industry - and world - for the people of tomorrow.

TLME CEO Sam Khan said: “The Excellence Awards are more than just about operational improvements, technology and elite business decision-making and this win symbolizes that.

“I believe our industry isn’t often recognized for its immense value outside of the immediate sector, this is why GCAA are winning awards, however, as their work shows the positive social and global impacts we can have if we really work for it.”
