Speaking at TLME's Future of Logistics Conference Part 3 held recently in Dubai, Hasan Jamaludin, Director of Supply Chain at Newbridge Pharmaceuticals said he had a 360 degree perspective of the supply chain and how it was affected during the pandemic.

He was replying to a question from conference moderator Lars Jensen on whether the air cargo industry had returned to normal after the pandemic.

Mr Jamaludin said during the pandemic the demand was for more than just medical supplies related to covid-19 and included many other items as governments in the region wanted to be prepared for the worst. This is what flared up the demand for timely logistics.

Thanks to automation, manufacturing had revived quickly but airlines today still had some ways to go before the resumed normal operations. Product demand however, was reviving and with it air cargo industry should fully revive as well, Mr Jamaludin concluded.
