Dubai Customs Boosts Competitiveness with ISO37001 Anti-Bribery Certification

Dubai Customs has achieved ISO 37001 Certification for its Anti-Bribery Management System, underscoring its dedication to integrity and transparency across customs operations.

This certification reflects the department's proactive approach in implementing robust anti-bribery controls to safeguard societal interests and bolster economic resilience through legitimate trade.

Mohammed Al Ghafari, Executive Director of Human Resources at Dubai Customs, received the certification at the department's headquarters from Eng. Nizar Bashaireh, CEO of Global Business Bureau. The event was attended by senior officials including Ahmed Kazim, Omran Rashed AlShamsi, Khulood AlFalasi, and Mohammed Al Muqahwi.

Mohammed Al Ghaffari said: “Dubai Customs has enhanced its commitment to comply with international anti-corruption and anti-bribery standards through its strategic plan, which aims to provide a comprehensive framework for the department to reduce the risks associated with bribery and improve the level of integrity and transparency in the provision of its customs services.

"By obtaining the ISO 37001 ISO Certification for the Anti-Bribery Management System, the Department enhances its attractiveness as a reliable business partner both locally and internationally.

"Additionally, this certificate also contributes to improving integrity and confidence between investors and customers, thus realizing Dubai Customs' strategy to support business and enhance sustainable development."

Emphasizing Dubai Customs' leadership in anti-bribery practices, Al Ghafari credited the team's dedication in achieving this milestone.

Samira Abdulrazzak, Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and Corporate Governance, affirmed that the certification elevates Dubai Customs among the world's premier customs authorities.

She underscored the department's adherence to governance best practices, enhancing security, trade facilitation, and service excellence.

Abdulrazzak highlighted Dubai Customs' initiatives in promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability through employee awareness campaigns and workshops.

These efforts aim to fortify organizational stability and uphold customs' pivotal role in sustainable success, reinforcing Dubai Customs' reputation and regulatory compliance.
