UAE, India to Broaden Ties in Transport, Infrastructure

Cooperation foreseen in railways, roads and transport

HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), received in his office HE Vipul, India’s Consul General in Dubai.

The meeting discussed means of boosting cooperation and exchanging expertise between RTA and Indian entities operating in the field of railways, roads and transport. The two parties also discussed the upcoming roads and infrastructure projects in Dubai.

Al Tayer praised the excellent relationships between the UAE and the Republic of India in economic and tourism sectors; which have yielded an increase in trade exchange between the two countries and the flow of tourists.

Al Tayer reviewed the key roads and infrastructure projects currently undertaken by RTAalong with the public transport network in Dubai.

He also highlighted RTA’s efforts to improve the traffic safety level by revamping the processes of training & licensing of drivers as well as the inspection of vehicles.

Al Tayer then reflected on efforts made to raise the awareness of road users, be it motorists or pedestrians.

The Consul General of India in Dubai praised the upswing seen by Dubai, rendering it a focal point for investors, business leaders and tourists from all over the world.

He expressed India’s hope to see the cooperation and exchange of expertise with the RTA taken to the next level.
