The past two years have seen the supply chain go through a radical transformation that has changed how we approach our work, the supply chain itself, and most importantly, our lives.

We’ve witnessed as never before the importance and power of the supply chain in providing vital equipment, keeping goods moving under huge demand, and disseminating a vaccine all around the world. We have seen the very best of transport and logistics.

Yet the global pandemic has also forced our hand as an industry to grow in many ways. Perhaps chiefly, it has expedited the move towards further technological integration, while also demanding levels of collaboration, remote working, and operational performance never witnessed before.

While one must be mindful of calling this a ‘silver lining’ given the tragic human cost of Covid-19, the industry galvanised and had to show that it could – and would – innovate.

This demand for innovation will not cease and we must see it as a huge opportunity to return the supply chain to full force, as well as to create a new tomorrow. A tomorrow that is safer, faster, happier, cleaner, and greener. That is why the TLME Awards 2022 is going to be centred around innovation.
