Ex-Port Technology MD & Publishing Guru Joins TLME
Transport & Logistics Middle East (TLME) has announced that ex-Port Technology Managing Director and digital marketing expert James AA Khan has joined the company as its Managing Director with immediate effect, bringing with him decades of experience in the media space, as well as significant supply chain experience.
Khan has had a varied and highly successful career, heading various operations with a noteworthy specialism in digital publishing, marketing, and cutting-edge media trends.
Originally making his name at The World Travel Awards by heading up the marketing arm of the company, Mr Khan revolutionised operations within the organisation, making the company the premier name in elite travel.
Next, he moved into the supply chain space, becoming MD of renowned industry title Port Technology, taking a much-loved, if somewhat stuttering title, to new heights.
What marked Mr Khan’s time at Port Technology was a strong focus on implementing cutting-edge digital publishing practices which massively increased Port Technology’s reach, as well as aligning with a digital evolution that was occurring in the supply chain at the time.

This led Port Technology – which made its name as a publisher of technical papers in a quarterly journal – into a leading name at the forefront of industry with a portfolio of highly successful international events, an online subscription service, an award-winning editorial and news team and a monthly print/online journal offering.
Mr Khan was also instrumental in aiding the career of TLME Head of Editorial Richard Joy, giving him his first big break as editor of the publication.
New TLME MD James AA Khan said: “After working in the supply chain arena for many years, I have witnessed the ingenuity on display in the Middle East, an arena with great hunger, capacity for technological growth and evolution.
“As Managing Director, I cannot wait to bring together some of the biggest names and organisations in the sector to deliver events that will inspire, inform and take things to a new level.
“It’s also a great pleasure to be joining the team, whom I already have strong relationships with, meaning we’re ready to hit the ground running and deliver something really special.”
TLME Chairman Joe Beydoun welcomed the new addition to TLME management saying: “James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team and I am sure his efforts will help us further galvanise the region’s supply chain into adopting better processes and technologies to enhance the efficiency of logistics operations across the Middle East.”
