After interference of its internal affairs, Saudi Arabia has stated it is to end its trade ties with Canada, according to reports.

The Saudi foreign ministry made the announcement via Twitter, stating it was to expel the Canadian Ambassador in Saudi Arabia and recall its own team in Canada.

Canada originally publicly called on Saudi Arabia to change its policies on ‘male guardianship’ of women, which the Saudi ministry described as "an attack" on the kingdom.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has been labelled one of the most ‘progressive’ leaders of the country.

He has already lifted a ban on women driving and overseen a huge crackdown on corruption in the Kingdom.
