Under the patronage of HRH Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince of Eastern Region, and in the presence of H.E Eng. Saleh N. Al Jasser, Minister of Transportation and Logistics Services, Tasnee and SipChem have signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Saudi Arabian Railways.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Bashar Al Malik, CEO of SAR and Mr. Mutlaq H. Al-Morished, CEO of Tasnee, during the inauguration of the railway network projects in the Eastern Region.
Another MoU was signed by Eng. Abdullah Al-Saadoon, CEO of Sipchem, and Dr. Bashar Al-Malik.
The MoUs reflect the intention of SAR to explore and identify mutual logistic opportunities and seek reasonable and cost-effective ways to transport containerized products through railways from the Tasnee Petrochemical Complex and Sipchem's Plants in Jubail Industrial city to the Jubail Commercial Port or King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

Mr Mutlaq Al-Morished, emphasized the MoU importance and the mutual cooperation between Tasnee and SAR which contributes to establishing and operating effective and safe railway lines to link and develop various Saudi regions, and, in the same time, minimizing CO2 emissions.
Eng. Abdullah Al-Saadoon appreciated SAR efforts as an enabler to petrochemical industry to optimize logistics cost and enhance the speed of product delivery to customers, at the same time reduce CO2 emissions.
“We are pleased to begin this new collaboration with SAR, that will strengthen further the Petrochemical Industry in Saudi, and positively impacting the environment as well as the society, by reducing truck movements and rely more on effective and sustainable way of transportation.”.
Dr. Bashar Al Malik commented that “Our agreement with Sipchem underlines connectivity both in a conceptual sense as well as literal. We are proud to work alongside pioneering companies and help provide more efficient, reliable and competitive transportation solutions.

The SAR project includes the inauguration of the railway (Jubail - Dammam) linking the North and East railway networks in addition to the inauguration Jubail Industrial City's internal network which serves industrial facilities in Jubail Industrial City.
