Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser and his accompanying delegation have visited DP World's Limassol Port, in Cyprus.
He was accompanied by the Cyprus Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works Alexis Vafeades, and Minister of State for Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis.
Al-Jasser was briefed on the work flow at the port, operational and logistical capabilities, and the most prominent technologies used in handling containers and receiving cargo and cruise ships.
The Saudi Transport Minister expressed his pleasure and satisfaction with the visit and hospitality in Cyprus, describing the meeting as constructive for identifying potential areas of collaboration. Adding that "fruitful discussions" are going to result in the signing of agreements.
Mr Vafeades thanked Mr Al-Jasser for the visit and interest, highlighting the opportunity for the Saudi delegation to learn about the services and infrastructure of Limassol port.
During the visit, DP World Limassol showcased the Multipurpose Terminal’s facilities, investments in the port and outlined the Cruise terminal’s key role in the Cyprus economy.
The delegation was also briefed on DP World's global network and its ambition to lead the future of efficient smart logistics trade.
DP World began its operations in Limassol, Cyprus in 2017, as the operator of the Multipurpose Terminal.
