Hapag-Lloyd to Offer Overland Transits Through Saudi Arabia

Arrangment offer another option to the current transit times

TLME News Service

As Red Sea disruptions continue Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it is introducing land service corridors from Jebel Ali, Dammam, and Jubail to Jeddah. This will enable the connection with Hapag-Lloyd's ocean shuttle service out of Jeddah.

While not optimal, the arrangment will offer another option to the current transit times, especially where alternative routings become excessively long.

"Our aim is to provide you with a convenient contingency solution to overcome this unexpected closure until the situation in the Red Sea has been normalized," the company said.

There are additional standard corridors within Saudi Arabia to cater for varying cargo needs, and Hapag-Lloyd is "ready to assist you in building the most optimal solution for your cargo planning."

More information can obtained by contacting local Hapag-Lloyd sales representatives. The company "will continue to expand this inland network within the GCC," the statement concluded.
