First Batch of Key Cranes Shipped for Egypt's New Damietta Alliance Container Terminal

Capacity to lift 75 tonnes up to 57.5 meters high makes them among the most powerful cranes in the world

Qingdao Haixi Heavy-Duty Machinery Co.,Ltd (HHMC) has successfully shipped the first batch (5 units of 12) of ultra-large quay cranes, custom-made for the Damietta Alliance Container Terminal S.A.E. in Egypt.

These cranes have a lifting capacity of 75 tonnes under the spreader, outreach of 72 meters, and lifting height of 57.5 meters, making them one of the tallest quay cranes in the world with such lifting capacity.

They are designed to meet the loading and unloading needs of the world's largest container ships.

The Damietta Alliance Container Terminal is expected to commence operations in 2025, with a total operational capacity of 3.3 million TEUs.

The introduction of these new quay cranes will enhance the terminal's status as a hub for container logistics in the Mediterranean, positively impacting Egypt's foreign trade and economic development.
