Volvo has developed an autonomous solution for the movement of land-based cargo as part of its push to lead in the area.
The company has developed a solution which monitors a vehicle’s location, load and battery charge, and then feeds back said data to a larger fleet analysis.
Lars Stenqvist, Chief Technology Officer of Volvo Group, said: “This is yet another result of the exciting and innovative solutions we are working within the areas of automation, electro-mobility and connectivity.
”It showcases the Volvo Group’s immense range of expertise and our solid technological know-how.
“This puts us in a unique position for the development of next-generation transport solutions. Now we are continuing to pursue our development at a fast pace.”
The solution is primarily intended for journeys between logistics hubs.
