Between April and December 2018, Bolloré Transport & Logistics successfully completed a unique heavy lift assignment on behalf of Shapoorji Pallonji, an Indian construction company.
The consignment involved 34,000 cbm of cargo including 15 Heavy Lift and out-of-gauge parts (HLOOG) of which the largest measured 46 x 15 x 9.5 m (L x W x H) for 228 tons.
Designed for the handling of bauxite at the mining site of Kamsar in Guinea, the equipment was first stored in the port Terminal.
Then, after completing civil engineering work, Bolloré Logistics teams managed the transport of the HLOOG to the GAC mining site (Guinea Alumina Corporation) over a distance of 7 km, including the crossing of 3 railroad tracks on time and without any incident.
Bolloré Transport & Logistics teams worked for almost two years on the logistical and technical constraints analysis before deploying tailor-made solutions such as the supervision of civil engineering works.
