In the last 18 months from the people side of the business at DHL “we have learned a lot,” said Mr Maier with employees adapting to the work from home environment yet collaborating closely across the globe. Further, Mr Maier said that the investments made in upskilling and technology-enabling DHL employees have really paid off.
This has allowed DHL to move the most cargo ever annually “in the most challenging circumstances,” said Mr Maier.
Another learning in the last couple of years has been that today there is lot more respect and appreciation for the role of logistics as a whole and looking ahead Mr Maier said the logistics industry is going to attract a lot of interest from young talents as it has proven that it can keep the world going.
