Danzas has won the Hero of the Pandemic - Supply Chain Solution Award at the recently held TLME Heroes of the Pandemic Awards 2021 hosted by TV news presenter Katie Jensen with celebrity and 2x world champion boxer, Amir Khan presenting the Special Recognition Awards.

This award recognises the supply chain solutions that are at the forefront of our sector and celebrates the work they’re doing to make our world a safer and more technologically advanced place.

With a workforce of 1200 DHL Certified Freight Forwarding experts and warehouse capacity exceeding 240,000 sq mtrs, Danzas has played a key role the Middle East's supply chain all through the pandemic.

The state-of-the-art cold chain facilities at Danzas have kept the region well-supplied with critical pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical supplies and perishables at this critical time.

When Danzas won the second award of the evening, TLME caught up once again with Mr Schreiber who said: "This may be the most important award of all and I will tell you why. When the pandemic broke out we had two big problems.

"One, we had to keep up the food supply chain especially in the Gulf countries, where most of the food is imported from overseas. Secondly, the distribution of the vaccines, which was most important.

"With the solutions that we as Danzas and DHL offered with our fleet of 280 aircraft and all the ocean freight solutions and reefers that we were able to arrange here, we never ran short of cheese from France, pasta from Italy or meat from Australia.

"It was all here on the supermarket shelves, which was because of the outstanding performance of the entire logistics industry."

Mr Schreiber then went on to say that the pandemic had really built global awareness among the public about the importance of the logistics and supply chain sectors.

On the future of the logistics sector, Mr Schreiber thought the prospects were bright and with technology playing such a critical role, the logistics industry had excellent career prospects for today's young and educated work force.
