Looking into the future Ms Albenese said this automation will only accelerate. Surge in cargo volumes during the pandemic combined with a lack of blue-collar workers gave a great push to automation in the transport and logistics industry.
Ms Albanese then added that technology was also getting cheaper making it a viable option in logistics operations.
Ms Albanese foresaw that in the future logistics will be much more automated, data driven, connected and also much more sustainable and customer centric thanks to the deployment of new technologies.
Ms Albanese concluded by saying that DHL had opened its Innovation Centre in Dubai a few months ago it was undertaking numerous projects that are making the global supply chain future ready.
