Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced that it has enhanced baggage allowance for all college and university students with an additional free of charge 23-kilograms.
The new baggage allowance is applicable to all undergraduate and postgraduate students holding a valid college or university student ID card and flying between any points within the airline’s global network.
Mr. Krešimir Kučko, Gulf Air CEO said: “This is a great bonus for all our student passengers. We know that students need more luggage to carry their books, laptops, winter clothes and so on.
“It is always a hassle for students to carefully pack their items when travelling for the academic year. Now, we want to make things easier for all students by allowing one extra bag of 23 kilos for each student flying to college or returning home for the summer”.
The process of availing of the additional baggage allowance is very simple. Student passengers must present their student ID cards to the check-in counter agents. Names on the student ID card and on the air ticket must match.

The check-in counter agent will then provide an additional 23-kilogram bag free of charge to the student passenger.
In the past, such bonus baggage allowances were sanctioned through airline offices and it had to be done a few days prior to the trip. Now with this simple process, Gulf Air will offer all students an easy way to carry more.
Earlier this year Gulf Air increased the baggage allowance for athletes allowing them to travel with their golf bags or bicycles free of charge to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst its passengers.
