Containers going missing across the world's ports, airports and storage facilities is not uncommon. But one at Toronto Airport that now stands unaccounted for, contains or contained $15 million worth of gold and other valuable items.
According to a report in the BBC, the police search is ongoing and the container appears to have been stolen from a cargo holding facility.
Peel Regional Police inspector Stephen Duivesteyn said their team is investigating and the container was about 5 cubic feet in size.
According to a statement made by the airport access was not gained from the airport side but from the public side of a warehouse leased to a third party outside their security line.
