Container with $15 Million of Cargo Goes Missing at Toronto Airport

Container with a large quantity of gold appears to have been stolen from a third party cargo holding facility

Containers going missing across the world's ports, airports and storage facilities is not uncommon. But one at Toronto Airport that now stands unaccounted for, contains or contained $15 million worth of gold and other valuable items.

According to a report in the BBC, the police search is ongoing and the container appears to have been stolen from a cargo holding facility.

Peel Regional Police inspector Stephen Duivesteyn said their team is investigating and the container was about 5 cubic feet in size.

According to a statement made by the airport access was not gained from the airport side but from the public side of a warehouse leased to a third party outside their security line.
