Ms Jensen starts off the evening by recognising the UAE Government's stellar response to the pandemic and its vaccination drive that has made the UAE the most vaccinated country in the world.
Describing how the idea of the awards crystalised, Ms Jensen says it all started with a single video made by TLME CEO Sam Khan a year ago. The video highlighted Dubai's and its supply chain industry's heroic efforts in successfully dealing with the unprecendented challenges of the pandemic.

The overwhelming response to the video from the logistics industry soon led to other videos being made which, in turn, started many conversations with leading figures from government and the supply chain across the Middle East. In time, these discussions led to the creation of the TLME Heroes of the Pandemic Awards 2021.
Ms Jensen concluded by inviting TLME Chairman, Joe Beydoun to deliver his keynote address outlining the post-pandemic landscape for the transport and logistics industries along with the wider regional supply chain.
