City of the future NEOM gets advisory board

Saudi Arabia has announced a Global Advisory Board for its NEOM city of the future project which will see a raft of opportunities develop in Internet of Things technologies.

The NEOM city is expected to cost around half a billion US dollars to build.

The team selected have an expertise spanning urban planning, architecture, design, technology, sustainability, energy and manufacturing.

"We welcome the global and diverse expertise of the Advisory Board and are confident that each of them will make huge contribution to the development of NEOM," Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, said.

Al-Nasr also stated that the advisory board will help shape NEOM's future through its detailed knowledge and connections with potential long-term strategic partners.

The aim behind the city is to transform Saudi Arabia from an oil-based economy into a leading global hub through introducing the most advanced industries and supply chain technologies.
