His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the UAE government to begin to develop a strategy to lift the region back on its feet after the coronavirus pandemic.

HH Sheikh Mohammed is reportedly eager to source local and international expertise aimed at crafting the best strategy to revive the UAE economy.

He has also ordered the creation of an "emergency plan" to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the medical sector.

HH Sheikh Mohammed said: “Our national priorities need to be reviewed by the post- COVID-19 world.

"Our financial and human resources need to be redirected. Our medical, food and economic security need to be further entrenched through new programmes and projects.

"Preparation for the post-COVID-19 is the preparation for a new future that no one expected just months ago.”
