Fires Break Out at Mussafah and Abu Dhabi International Airport

Explosions reported from ADNOC storage facility and new construction area of Abu Dhabi International Airport

According to a report by Emirates News Agency (WAM) the Abu Dhabi Police have confirmed that a fire broke out this morning, which led to the explosion of three petroleum tankers in ICAD 3, Mussafah, near ADNOC's storage tanks.

A minor fire also broke out in the new construction area of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Initial investigations suggest that the the fires were possibly caused by drones dropping objects in the two areas. Teams from the competent authorities have been dispatched and the fire is currently being put out.

No damage has been reported so far and investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
